2023 NFL Mock Draft Predictions: Teams trade up in search of quarterbacks (CBS Sports, Sports Illustrated, Los Angeles Times, Bears Wire)

As the 2023 NFL Draft approaches, teams are making their final preparations to bolster their respective rosters with the best players out of college football. This year’s draft class appears to be top-heavy with quarterbacks, and several teams are looking to trade up to grab their preferred signal-caller.

In the CBS Sports 2023 NFL Mock Draft, the Houston Texans are projected to make three first-round picks, with Will Levis being one of the selections. Meanwhile, the Baltimore Ravens send Lamar Jackson to the San Francisco 49ers to acquire Trey Lance, and the Las Vegas Raiders trade up to select C.J. Stroud.

Sports Illustrated’s latest mock draft has the Tennessee Titans and Seattle Seahawks trading up to grab quarterbacks, with five signal-callers being selected in the first round. This allows other teams to take advantage of opportunities to trade for more picks.

Sam Farmer of the Los Angeles Times also notes the top-heavy quarterback class, with his final mock draft having the Jacksonville Jaguars selecting Malik Willis with the first overall pick.

In Jarrett Bailey’s final two-round mock draft for Bears Wire, there is plenty of shake-up in the top five picks, including trades and a top offensive tackle being selected.

Ultimately, the 2023 NFL Draft appears to be shaping up as the year of the quarterback, with teams scrambling to find their next franchise player. As always, only time will tell which projections will come to fruition and which teams will come out on top.
