Disneyland fire

On Saturday night, an intense fire broke out at Disneyland in Anaheim during the popular “Fantasmic!” show (KTLA). During the show, a 45-foot tall animatronic dragon became fully engulfed in flames and had to be extinguished by firefighters (Reuters). Although some spectators thought the fire-breathing dragon catching fire was part of the show (The New York Times), there were no injuries reported (ABC7).

The fire caused parts of Adventureland to be evacuated (WDW News Today) and Disney temporarily suspended similar fire effects globally (KTLA). Tom Sawyer Island, in particular, caught on fire during the show but there were no reported injuries (ABC7).

The news of the fire at Disneyland spread quickly across the media (CNN, NBC News, The Guardian). The fire started when the animatronic dragon caught fire, causing panic among the spectators (CNN). The Maleficent dragon, in dragon form, caught fire during a performance of “Fantasmic!” (WDW News Today).

Although the fire caused a spectacle, no one was hurt and the incident was contained quickly (NBC Los Angeles). Disney officials have promised to investigate the cause of the fire (The Guardian) and take necessary measures to prevent such incidents in the future (KTLA).
