Record Store Day 2023 is fast approaching, and vinyl lovers across the country are getting ready for the annual event. On April 22, 1400 stores across the United States will have exclusive vinyl LP releases (“USA Today”). Taylor Swift’s “Long Pond Sessions” is expected to be a top seller on the day, along with releases from Pearl Jam, Elton John, and Jason Isbell & Amanda Shires (“Variety”).
For those in the Metro Detroit area, there are several stores participating in the event. WDET 101.9 FM recommends checking out some of their staff picks for the day (“WDET 101.9 FM”). In the Milwaukee area, three new shops will be celebrating their first Record Store Day, including Lilliput Records, Volta Records, and Vinyl Vault (“Milwaukee Journal Sentinel”).
In Pittsburgh, there will be events and exclusive releases at local record stores for music fans to enjoy (“Pittsburgh City Paper”). And in Philadelphia, fans will have the chance to pick up the newest Taylor Swift release and other exclusive vinyl (“Philadelphia Inquirer”).
Music fans across the country are excited for the event, with vinyl collectors in particular looking forward to the exclusive releases. Some of the most sought-after releases include Taylor Swift’s “Long Pond Sessions,” the Rolling Stones’ “The Rolling Stones No. 2,” and a limited edition pressing of Prince’s “1999” (“Billboard”).
