Grading the 2023 NFL Draft: Which Teams Scored Big and Who Flopped?

The 2023 NFL Draft has concluded, and with all 259 picks announced, it’s time to assess which teams hauled in the best classes and which ones flopped. The Philadelphia Eagles led the pack with top team classes, while the Dallas Cowboys and Detroit Lions fell short, according to USA Today (USA Today). New York Post grades for every team put the Houston Texans amongst the boldest moves (New York Post).

CBS Sports’ Chris Trapasso graded the third day of the 2023 NFL Draft and provided analysis and projections for all fourth-round picks (CBS Sports). Sporting News’ Vinnie Iyer handed out live grades for each pick during the first round of the draft, and according to his ranking, the Pittsburgh Steelers had the best draft class while the New York Jets had the worst (Sporting News).

Bleacher Report assessed Day 3 grades for every pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, held in Kansas City (Bleacher Report). It’s worth noting that grading draft picks immediately after they happen may seem premature, as their true performances can only be determined once they hit the field (Touchdown Wire).

PFF’s 2023 NFL Draft grades were released for all 16 NFC teams once the draft was over (PFF). According to CBS Sports’ Pete Prisco, the Eagles, Cowboys, Cincinnati Bengals, and Lions received A’s for their draft haul, while four other teams tied for the worst mark (CBS Sports).

As the 2023 NFL Draft comes to a close, time will tell which teams truly scored big and which ones flopped.
