Transformers, the beloved sci-fi franchise, is making headlines once again. The franchise has been around for over 15 years and has produced seven movies, but it has never quite reached the level of epicness that fans have been hoping for (NNN NEWS Today). However, that may all be about to change with the upcoming release of “Transformers One,” an animated movie set to release in 2024. The movie is being produced by Paramount Animation, Hasbro, and eOne and directed by Josh Cooley (NNN NEWS Today).

But while fans may be eagerly anticipating the release of “Transformers One,” the grid itself is facing a serious threat. According to E&E News, there is currently a transformer shortage that is putting the zero-carbon grid at risk. U.S. utilities need more transformers to keep the lights on after major storms, but the specialized equipment is in short supply.

On a lighter note, Transformers fans can rejoice at the news of Mini-World game cube toys that were recently revealed at the TOY EDU show in China (Tformers). Fans can also collect new medallion coins from a machine in the Supply Vault at Universal Studios Florida, which features the popular Transformers franchise (WDW News Today).

Speaking of Universal Studios Florida, visitors can look forward to a new baby blue color scheme taking over the façade for Transformers: The Ride, as spotted by WDW News Today. The Transformers wall at Universal Studios Florida has also been completely painted blue, while sections of the façade have been given newly painted blue stripes (WDW News Today).

In other Transformers news, Seibertron.com reports on new releases such as the Naughty or Nice Wave 2 and Transformers Ultimates!, which features characters like Fallen Starscream and Reformatting Megatron. Meanwhile, the façade for Transformers: The Ride at Universal Studios Florida is still undergoing structural changes, with a new villain-con minion blast marquee being completed (WDW News Today).

Overall, the Transformers franchise continues to capture the attention of fans and the press alike, with new releases, shortages, and structural updates making headlines.
