Record Store Day 2023: Celebrating Music and the Independent Record Shop Culture
Music lovers around the world are gearing up for Record Store Day 2023, which takes place on Saturday, April 22. This special event is an annual celebration of independent record shop culture and community events, with exclusive vinyl drops and limited releases available at participating stores.
About 1,400 stores worldwide will have exclusive vinyl LP releases, and the list of releases includes big names such as Taylor Swift, the Rolling Stones, Jason Isbell and Amanda Shires, Pearl Jam, Elton John, and more (USA Today, 2023). The highly anticipated release of Taylor Swift’s Long Pond Sessions is expected to be the top-selling exclusive album of the event (Variety, 2023).
