Tampa Bay Lightning

On the 30th anniversary of the Tampa Bay Lightning’s existence, hockey fans were reminded of the role Phil Esposito played in bringing the team to life (ABC Action News). Without his contributions, the Lightning may not exist today. However, the Lightning didn’t have much to celebrate during their recent playoff game against the Toronto Maple Leafs. The Lightning ended up losing 7-2, allowing Toronto to tie up the series (Bay News 9). While the Lightning have never lost a playoff series in the past, they may need to turn things around if they want to come out on top.

During Game 2, the third period may have felt like high school hockey due to the Lightning’s poor performance (Tampa Bay Times). But the stakes are much higher now, and the Lightning can’t afford to let their guard down. While Tampa Bay dominated during Game 1 with a 7-3 victory, Toronto fought back in Game 2 and won 7-2 (Sportskeeda). John Tavares led the Maple Leafs with impressive singlehanded effort, helping tie up the series (AP News).

Despite Tampa Bay’s loss, many are looking forward to the ongoing series. Some are even predicting what could happen next (WinnersandWhiners.com). However, one thing is for sure: both teams will need to bring their A game if they want to come out on top (NHL.com).
