Kevin Durant’s Performances in the NBA Playoffs

The NBA playoffs are heating up, and the performances of some of the league’s star players are coming under intense scrutiny. One such player is Kevin Durant of the Brooklyn Nets. Despite being considered one of the best players in the league, Durant has not been relied upon as much as he’s capable of in the playoffs (Bright Side of the Sun).

In game 3 of the Western Conference Quarterfinals against the Los Angeles Clippers, Durant had a busy night at the charity stripe. He finished the game with 28 points, shooting 8-15 from the field (CBS Sports). However, Durant has not been the star of the show in the playoffs so far. In the first round series against the Phoenix Suns, Durant has been overshadowed by Devin Booker (ClutchPoints).

One reporter for AZCentral believes that Durant is letting Booker lead the pack offensively. Booker has been aggressive like an attack dog, while Durant has been more of a decoy (AZCentral). Some NBA fans on Twitter have even gone so far as to say that Durant looks intimidated by his former teammate, Russell Westbrook (The SportsRush).

Despite the criticism, Durant knows firsthand what it’s like to deal with injuries in the playoffs. He can relate to the Clippers’ injury woes, as he was in a similar situation when he played for the Golden State Warriors (Sportsnaut). Furthermore, Durant recently shared his thoughts on the MVP award in an interview on The ETCs podcast (Sports Illustrated).

Durant’s rookie season in the NBA was back in 2007-08 with the Seattle Supersonics, which is now the Oklahoma City Thunder. Recently, he met Corbin Carroll of the Arizona Diamondbacks, who is a fan of the Supersonics (Arizona Sports).

As the playoffs continue, all eyes will be on Kevin Durant and whether he can step up to lead his team to a championship. For now, he is content being a decoy and letting his teammates take the lead offensively (Bleacher Report).
